September 19, 2025 Project Update

This is an update on the Botham Avenue Reconstruction Project as of the September 19, 2025 progress meeting.  Hoffman Brothers, Inc. reported that the 12” diameter water main has passed all testing requirements and water services are in the process of being switched from the old 6” diameter main to the new water main.  The water service work is expected to be complete by the end of the day Monday, September 22nd.  Several water shut offs are schedule in the coming week in order to tie-in the new 12” diameter water main to existing water mains on both ends of the project.  So long as all goes as planned, water main shut offs are expected to occur on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday of the coming week.  Maps of the anticipated shut off areas follow.

Tuesday, September 23, 2025 Water Shut Off

This shut off will impact Neon Grill and 2626 Niles Avenue.  Hoffman Brothers plans to have the water restored in time for Neon Grill to be open for normal operating hours.  Please see the map in supporting documents below.

Thursday, September 25, 2025 Shut Off

This shutoff will predominantly impact Botham Avenue residents fronting on the construction.  Some homes along South State Street, south of Botham Avenue are also expected to be impacted. Please see the map in supporting documents below.

Friday, September 26, 2025

This shutoff will impact Botham Avenue residents fronting on the construction.  Properties on South State Street, Petrie Avenue, and Botham Court are also expected to be impacted.  Properties along South State Street, in the vicinity of Columbia Avenue could also be impacted.  Please see the map in supporting documents below.

Niles Avenue Southbound Lane Restriction and Northbound Closure

Hoffman Brothers communicated that they expect the Niles Avenue southbound lane restriction, and northbound closure to remain in place until October 10th; they anticipate the project will be complete near the end of October.  The project team is continuing to push to finish the construction as soon as possible.
