Parking: City residents & property owners
City of St. Joseph residents and property owners can park for free in any City-owned space.
We've created a parking waiver system for City taxpayers so they are not paying twice for the infrastructure they already support.
Most parking downtown remains free and available to everyone, with no parking waiver required. Click here to view a map of free parking spaces downtown.
If you want a parking waiver, simply complete a City Resident Parking Waiver Application. Please allow one business day to get your parking pass.
How it works:
- You fill out the City Resident Parking Waiver Applicaiton either online or in person at City Hall for each vehicle you own.
- Once we receive the completed application, we'll review it and enter your license plate into our computer system.
- When you park downtown, we'll recognize your license plate in our system and know you can park free.
- You can park in the same space for up to 3 hours. If longer, you may receive a parking ticket.
