City of St. Joseph announces traffic closures and detour for 2026 Blossomtime Grand Floral Parade

St. Joseph, Michigan, May 5, 2026—The City of St. Joseph Department of Public Safety announces the following detours, traffic closures and parking restrictions on Saturday, May 9 in support of the 120th Blossomtime Grand Floral Parade route.
Traffic entering St. Joseph is advised of the following detour route, effective beginning at 10:00 a.m. through approximately 4:00 p.m.:
- Traffic entering St. Joseph from the north will be detoured west onto Port Street, then south onto Lake Boulevard. Traffic wishing to continue south on M-63 will turn east onto Jones Street or continue south on Lake Boulevard for BL-94.
- Traffic entering St. Joseph from the south will be diverted at westbound Jones Street and will follow the same route in reverse.
Road closures will include the Bicentennial Bridge, which will be closed to both vehicle traffic and masted boat traffic. Residents and businesses located along Anchor’s Way will be able to exit the area by heading into St. Joseph and following the detour. Residents and businesses are advised to drive slowly and with caution, as emergency vehicles may travel against traffic in those lanes. Entry into the Marina Island area is unavailable while the parade route is closed.
There will be no parking along the following public streets beginning at 6:00 a.m. through approximately 4:00 p.m. Any vehicles parked in these areas will be ticketed or towed:
- State Street: 500 block through 1000 block
- Market Street: 500 block and 600 block
- Court Street: 700 block through 1000 block
- Park, Price and Jones Streets: 500 block through 800 block
- Hoyt Street: 700 block and 800 block
- Church Street: 1000 block
- Pearl Street: 500 block through 1100 block
- Ship Street: Lake Boulevard to the alley
For spectators, blankets and chairs may be placed at or after 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9. Any blankets or chairs placed before this time will be removed and taken to the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety located at City Hall.
