Hiring: Police Reserve 03-2026

The City of St. Joseph Public Safety Department is accepting applications for a Public Safety Reserve Officer.

This part-time position assists full-time officers with patrol support, traffic and crowd control, special events, and other related public safety duties. Reserve Officers must be available to work various hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Candidates will be subject to a criminal background check, physical examination, and drug screening. Law enforcement certification or enrollment in a police academy is preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• A least 18 years of age
• Possess a valid Michigan driver’s license

The starting hourly rate is $18.00.
