The City of St. Joseph is seeking a Custodian to perform custodial and general maintenance duties at City Hall, the Fire Station, Public Works, and other City-owned facilities as needed. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining building interiors and exteriors, maintaining grounds and entryways, clearing snow and debris from sidewalks, cleaning offices and restrooms, maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies, and assisting with general facility upkeep and maintenance projects.

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. In addition to a competitive salary, the City offers a generous benefits package, including a defined benefit retirement plan.

The starting hourly rate is $20.00.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

• Knowledge of custodial practices, building maintenance, and cleaning equipment preferred.

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

• Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Ability to pass a criminal background check and maintain a satisfactory record.
