November 4, 2025 City General Election Results
Unofficial returns of the City of St. Joseph General Election held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 are now available. Please note that there is a 15-day period before counts are official to ensure all mail-in ballots have been received and the County canvass is complete. The County will certify the final results.
The results are as follows:
1. Lisa Vetne; 1,427 votes; 4-year term
2. Michael Fernandez; 1,240 votes; 4-year term
3. Michael Sarola; 1,140 votes; 2-year term
4. Kim Jorgensen Gane; 1,034 votes
5. Thomas Dean Jennings; 1,029 votes
6. Ryan Katowich; 999 votes
There were six candidates for three open seats on the City Commission. The two candidates who received the two greatest number of votes in the General Election receive four-year terms; the candidate who received the third-greatest number of votes receives a two-year term.
The new commission will take office at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, November 19, at which time the commission will select from its own the Mayor and Mayor pro tem to serve until the commission is seated following the November 2027 City General Election.
