Sidewalk Amenities Policy and Application for the DDA

Since 2014 the City has formally allowed businesses within the Downtown Development Authority boundaries the opportunity to temporarily place chairs and tables on the public sidewalk from April 1 through November 1, and advertising sandwich board signs year-round.  The adopted Policy was substantially updated in 2020 and then modified in 2021 to address some of the concerns expressed.

The City Clerk’s Office is responsible for granting annual permission for the placement of public tables and chairs or advertising sandwich boards on the public sidewalk.
