Law

It is unlawful to park a vehicle upon a public street Sunday night through Thursday night between the hours of 2:30 AM and 6:30 AM. It is also unlawful to park a vehicle on a downtown business district or parking lot between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM for more than (2) two hours. It is also unlawful to park on the front, side yards and tree lawns.

Downtown Parking

Parking in the downtown involves two hour, three hour, and all day. To assist visitors with convenient parking, we have provided a map outlining parking time limits.

Parking Costs

Many of the City's parks and other attractions offer convenient, affordable parking. These parking lots may be paid through an hourly rate, daily rate or seasonal parking pass. Parking passes and parking fee collection is administrated by the Finance Department. Paying Parking Tickets

Beginning April 1, 2016, the City of St. Joseph will begin accepting credit cards for payment of your Parking Tickets in person at City Hall. We will continue to accept credit card for payments made online and by phone. Payments may also be in the form of cash or check. The prior payment option, www.GovPayNow.com is no longer valid and will not accept payments.

Fees - A convenience fee equal to 3% of the payment amount ($2 minimum) will be assessed for all credit card payments and $3 per all E-check payments.

Payment Options for Parking Tickets

  • In Person - At City Hall, 700 Broad Street, Monday through Friday 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.
  • Online -  Have your parking ticket stub handy
  • By Mail - Send your check with the ticket to the City of St. Joseph, 700 Broad Street, St. Joseph, MI 49085. Please include your parking ticket stub or ticket number. We cannot accept credit card payments by mail or drop box.
  • Drop Box - Insert your payment in our 24/7 drop box located inside the double glass doors at the Broad Street entrance to City Hall. Please include your parking ticket stub or ticket number.
