The City of St. Joseph is accepting resumes for the position of Building Inspector, working under the supervision of the Chief Building Official.

Applicants shall be familiar with construction materials and procedures, have the ability to read basic civil engineering and architectural drawings, have a basic understanding of building codes, and deal effectively with contractors and the public.

Applicants for this position should be proficient with Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel, CAD and Equalizer a plus. Position requires inside deskwork and outside work in all types of weather.

Within six (6) months of hire registration as an inspector with the State of Michigan will be required. Must have a high school diploma and a valid Michigan driver’s license.
