Persons who want to file as a Write-In Candidate, the deadline is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2008. Contact your City or County Clerk.
The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
We will be using the Optech Insight Optical Scan voting equipment along with the AutoMARK to aid voters with disabilities to mark/vote their ballot independently. The AutoMARK uses the same ballot that others use in the precinct, it is an electronic marking machine with a computerized screen that can be magnified, has a Braille keypad and headphones so voters can hear their options and assist them in marking their ballot. The machine is equipped to accommodate personal sip and puff, rocker paddle and foot pedal devices. Please let the elections inspectors know if you wish to use this equipment.
See you at the Polls!
Voters unable to go to the polls on Election Day or who are 60 years of age or older, may vote absentee by contacting the City Clerk's Office at 983-6325. An absentee application must be completed in order to receive an absentee ballot. The deadline to have an absent voter ballot mailed is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3rd.
