There is a vacancy on the city commission resulting from the resignation of Chris Heugel, who resigned on September 21, 2017, due to moving outside the City of St. Joseph.

According to City Charter, the city commission has the responsibility of appointing a commissioner to serve out the remainder of this term, which ends in November 2019.  A city commissioner must be a US citizen, an elector of the city, have resided in the city for at least one (1) year, and not otherwise be disqualified from holding public office. The application deadline is 12 p.m., Monday, November 27, 2017. 

To apply, please complete the Affidavit for Qualification for City Commission Appointment (a notarized signature is required). Although not necessary, applicants may wish to attach additional documentation supporting their intention to serve as a city commissioner.  Please return your completed Affidavit and attachments to:
