Bob Judd has been involved in community service for many years. A St. Joseph Board of Education trustee from 1981-1993, and its president for eight years, Judd was elected to the St. Joseph City Commission in 1997.
"I enjoy doing this," said Judd, who retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 32 years, and is
now counsel with the law firm of Taglia, Fette, Dumke, & White, P.C. "I care about the community and I think I bring leadership ability and analytical skills to the table. I'd rather be a part of the decision-making instead of sitting back."
Judd said this is an interesting time to work in city government.
"This is a pivotal time period for St. Joseph," said Judd, who holds a Bachelor of Arts
degree in physics from Kalamazoo College, a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering
from University of Michigan and a law degree from George Washington University. "We are
upgrading the infrastructure, moving forward on the Bluffside and Harbor Shores developments and
making improvements in our downtown. It's nice to be involved in making those things happen."
Judd is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His family moved to Jackson, Michigan in 1946. He and his wife Joan have two daughters.
