Hospital Finance Authority Board

Created under the provisions of Public Act 38 of 1969, the City of St. Joseph adopted Articles of Incorporation of the Hospital Finance Authority in October 1982.  According to the Articles of Incorporation the purpose of the Authority is:

  1. Constructing, acquiring, reconstructing, remodeling, improving, adding to, enlarging, repairing, owning and leasing hospital facilities within or without the boundaries of the City of St. Joseph for the use of a hospital;
  2. Lending money to a hospital for those purposes;
  3. Refunding or refunding in advance obligations of the Authority or the Michigan State Hospital Finance Authority; or
  4. Refinancing the indebtedness of a hospital.

Meetings

The Hospital Finance Authority meets annually in the Commission Chambers, City Hall, 700 Broad St.

Membership

The Hospital Finance Authority is made up of five members. Members are appointed by the City Commission and serve a five-year term.
